Broad Coalition of First District Mayors Throw Support to Cornilles
Beaverton, OR — Rob Cornilles, candidate for U.S. Congress in the Special Election for Oregon’s First Congressional District, has announced a unique and still growing coalition of 16 mayors from Northwest Oregon supporting his candidacy.
“No one knows our local communities better than the First District mayors,” said Cornilles. “I am humbled by their widespread support and confidence that I am the best candidate – in either party – to help revitalize our economy and provide job opportunities for the men and women of Northwest Oregon. These mayors know they can count on me to be a reliable and relentless partner to advocate for sound policy and reforms in Congress.”
Hillsboro Mayor Jerry Willey said: “It’s time we expected more from our representative in Congress. And we trust Rob Cornilles to meet those expectations. Cornilles is a prominent business advisor and job-creator, having founded Game Face, Inc in 1995. He and Allison, his wife of 25 years, are the parents of three sons, ages 21, 18, and 15. Both Rob and Allison are native Oregonians, having been born in Portland and raised in Washington and Yamhill Counties in the 1st Congressional District.
Rob is an active participant in his community by serving on the boards of Special Olympics Oregon, Virginia Garcia Memorial Foundation, Umpqua Bank, Oregon International Air Show, Oregon League of Minority Voters, and the Japan America Society of Oregon.
Cornilles was the 2010 Republican nominee for Oregon’s First Congressional District.
Oregon’s 1st Congressional District stretches from Portland to the Oregon Coast and encompasses all of Washington, Yamhill, Columbia and Clatsop counties, and part of Multnomah County.
