ROB CORNILLES RAISES OVER $125,000 IN FIRST QUARTER OF CAMPAIGN

99.8% of Contributions from Individuals
97.7% from Oregon

PORTLAND, Ore. – Rob Cornilles announced today his final fundraising totals for the third quarter. This is the first fundraising quarter for the campaign against Rep. David Wu in Oregon’s first congressional district. The report is due at the Federal Election Commission on October 15.

Total raised 3Q 2009 $125,270
Cash-on-hand $114,311
Total raised from Oregon $122,430 (97.7% of total)
Total raised from individuals $125,070 (99.8% of total)

“I am simply humbled and astounded at the incredible support I’ve received from Oregonians these last three months,” Cornilles said. “Almost all of my contributions are from individuals, not from special interests and political action committees like my opponent. As a new challenger, these numbers show just how concerned people are with my opponent’s record against jobs and the economy and how ready they are for the new leadership I can bring.”

By comparison, Wu raised only $60,425 during the second quarter reported last July, and only $23,675 (39%) was from individuals. After interest income of $25,698, Wu spent $74,366 that quarter and had $317,636 cash on hand.

“I am very enthusiastic that in one quarter alone, I’ve raised a third of Wu’s cash-on-hand,” Cornilles said.

Oregon’s first Congressional district stretches from Portland to the Oregon Coast and encompasses all of Washington, Yamhill, Columbia and Clatsop counties, and part of Multnomah County.

Cornilles is a prominent trainer and advisor in the business industry, having founded Game Face, Inc in 1995. He and Allison, his wife of 23 years, volunteer in various community causes, including Boy Scouts of America, local schools, the Good Neighbor Center, and other organizations centered on developing stronger youth citizens and leaders. They are also active in the lives of their three sons.
