ROB CORNILLES ADVANCES TO 'CONTENDER' STATUS
Oregonian Becomes One of Thirty 'Contenders' Nationwide
PORTLAND, Ore. - Rob Cornilles, Republican candidate for Oregon's
First Congressional District, announced today that the National
Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) has advanced his
campaign to 'Contender' status as part of its Young Guns program.
Cornilles is the only candidate in Oregon, and along the West
Coast, that has currently achieved 'Contender' status.
"I am honored to see that my campaign is creating not only
excitement in Oregon, but on a national level as well," said
Cornilles. "My campaign is centered upon the belief that
government should provide an environment that allows businesses
and families to succeed. Our message not only resonates with
Oregonians, but with people across the country who are ready for
their leaders to listen to their needs and work together to solve
their problems."
Founded in the 2007-2008 election cycle by Reps. Eric Cantor
(R-VA), Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) and Paul Ryan (R-WI), the Young Guns
program is a member-driven organization dedicated to electing
open-seat and challenger candidates nationwide. By achieving
'Contender' status, Cornilles has already proven his ability to
build a successful campaign structure and achieve vital
fundraising goals. 'Contender' status is the second step in the
three-level program.
"Rob Cornilles has already proven that he will be a formidable
candidate by meeting the Young Guns program's rigorous goals and
is well on his way to building a winning campaign to put this seat
in the Republican column," said NRCC Chairman Pete Sessions. "Rob
is part of a strong and growing candidate pool of everyday
Americans who are frustrated with big-government and aren't
willing to stand idly by any longer. His campaign has put David Wu
on notice that Americans are ready to turn the page on Nancy
Pelosi's failed tax-and-spend agenda."
Cornilles is a prominent advisor and job-creator in the business
industry, having founded Game Face, Inc in 1995. He and Allison,
his wife of 23 years and fellow native Oregonian, volunteer in
various community causes, including local schools, Boy Scouts of
America, the Good Neighbor Center, and other organizations
centered on developing stronger youth citizens and leaders. They
are also active in the lives of their three sons.
Help keep the momentum going!
